This wedding was very near and dear to my heart. Zach and I are big fans of Raegan and Nigel, and getting to photograph their intimate summer backyard wedding was one of the most joyful days around! I hope you enjoy a little glimpse into their special day!

When Raegan first began sharing with me the vision she and Nigel had for their wedding, I was so excited for the day to come. She explained that she didn't want the day to be stressful (or exhausting to plan), and that she simply wanted to enjoy it all with their close friends and family. Watching the day unfold further proved to me that some of the most memorable and beautiful weddings are those that are kept smaller and more intimate.

One of the choices that allowed the day to be simplified + free of extra stress was with the wedding party. Nigel and Raegan knew that the ceremony was going to be just the two of them standing at the front with the officiant (ahem - my very handsome husband ;) ), but Raegan still wanted to experience some bridesmaid fun with her gals. She asked that they choose happy, summer colors and florals for their dresses, and I adore how the photos turned out of their group! The colors popped beautifully amidst all the green trees, and I love that all the ladies were able to select dresses they felt confident in.

Can we also talk about the fact that Raegan selected and assembled all of the floral details of the day? LOVE!

After the ceremony, guests made their way further into the backyard for the reception! The tables were beautifully decorated with an assortment of flowers, candles, and other colorful details that popped against the white tablecloths. And who doesn't get excited when pizza is on the menu?!

One of the benefits of a smaller scale wedding is the flexibility it offers throughout the day. Not only were we able to take family portraits, we also were able to get photos of the bride and groom with all of their guests! When selecting a more intimate and intentional group to attend your wedding, you'll want to be able to remember each of these special connections, and we had plenty of time to do just that!

The last part of the day was taking portraits of the new Mr. and Mrs. Reid! We drove into Oklahoma City to a couple different spots, and yet again - this was such a wonderful aspect of their "nontraditional" wedding day plans. They were able to relax and enjoy the reception with their friends and family, and once the cake had been cut, the toasts had been shared, and a few more group photos taken, we could take all the time we wanted to get the photos of just the two of them.

Raegan and Nigel’s love story is one of faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment. From the moment they first connected, their relationship was marked by deep intentionality and a shared devotion to God and serving the church. Raegan said that after their very first phone call, she knew Nigel was “the one.” Nigel told his cousin right away that she was going to be "Rae Reid.” Their love grew quickly, grounded in mutual care, trust, and a deep sense of purpose.

What stands out most to me about these friends of ours is how they see and honor one another. Zach and I got to witness their relationship grow from its earliest days, and I loved watching how they cared for and supported one another in times of need. Through all the life changes they've gone through together, their love has always been one of action and loving sacrifice. I get teary thinking of how thankful I am that they found one another, knowing that ministry will continue to take them on many ups and downs, and they'll be able to lean on one another through it all.

Congratulations again Nigel and Raegan, we love you and are so excited to watch where life takes you!
