Annie's Senior Photos
Did I want to steal this pink flower dress from Annie immediately after her session? Yes, yes I did. But at the same time, I could never, because this dress looked like it was made perfectly for her and for this session! On top of a pretty dress in a pretty location, it was an absolute joy to work with Annie herself. Chatting with Annie and her mom as we walked around Great Plains Nature Center felt like getting together with good friends, and I couldn't be more grateful to have worked with them both!
I distinctly remember halting us in this very spot and saying something coherent along the lines of "sknfjnsldkrjng;alemd AHHH THE LIGHT IS SO PRETTY WE HAVE TO STOP RIGHT HERE!" On a related note - Thank you to all my clients who patiently put up with me when I get slightly manic when I see the light hitting just right in a beautiful spot as we walk. Sometimes you can't plan each precise stop in a location like this one, because the light fluctuates and the foliage is constantly changing, and you just have to be ready for when the magic strikes.
Now putting a Bible with sprayed edges like these on my wish list. 😍
This has become a favorite moment of mine in senior sessions. Moms (and dads), if you tag along with us, I'm going to politely (but rather firmly 😉) request that I get at least one photo of you with your senior! I've noticed that the photos I have with just me and one of my parents dropped off steeply once I graduated high school, so I love to pause and capture a photo or two like these - to celebrate and remember not only your child's hard work to get all the way to this point, but celebrate the parenting journey you've been on as well.
Annie, congratulations on your upcoming graduation!! I can't wait to see where life takes you in this next chapter, and thank you for letting me capture the special moments as you near the end of this one.
